Paradise Island

A beautiful island resort which is just a ferry boat away from the busy city is another great beach getaway in the city of Davao "Paradise Island". You will sure enjoy the bright blue skies and crystal clear water of the beach, great for photo enthusiasts and those who just want fun and a great time. You can enjoy a lot of things in Paradise Island such as snorkeling (there's even a snorkeling spot where you can feed hundreds of tiny colorful fishes!), kayaking, party at night (yep! there are bars in the place!), the great white sand beach of course and etc!

You can first take a cab from the city and ask the taxi driver to get you to "kilometer 9, Sasa Wharf" where you can ride a ferry boat to Samal Island just tell them you're going to Paradise Island and you certainly will get there, its just a 15-20 minutes ferry boat ride.

Riding a cab from the city to the wharf will cost you around 120.00 pesos or less and the ferry ride is just 15.00 pesos if you are riding alone or you can rent a ferry for around a hundred pesos if you are in a group of seven. Paradise Island's entrance fee is 100.00 pesos and foods are inexpensive..(so you can just buy a lot! hehehe)

Laiya

Wohoh!!!.. At last I finally got the balls to start writing here hehe. For a very long time I had been thinking of joining the blogging community not for any other reason (well.. for now) but for the sake of keeping up with my language and writing skills since I am not going to school anymore. I'm just afraid of loosing what I had due to lack of practice and usage, especially because I've come to realize that I have'nt been reading a lot for the past two years (whew!). Well, what better solution is there for me than to write! One must experience or at least read about what ever that is (hehehe..) to be able to share something interesting.

This blogspot will be your haven for great getaway places foreign or local, cheap or extravagant and famous or not (disclaimer: does'nt mean I have gone to all of these places though! **wink** but there should be some..) . If I have all the riches in the world! I would travel to all the great resorts there could be ( nyeh! who woud'nt eheh.. ^_^ .. ). And let me start this journey humbly at "Laiya".

''Laiya" is about 140 Km. from Metro Manila which is located in the southeastern part of Batangas province (San Juan). The white beach getaway is a few hours away (2-3) from Manila and the beach strip is lined with guest houses that accomodate weekenders from the city, tourist and travelers as well. For vacation guide to Laiya you can also visit some of the web pages on the net like http://www.travbuddy.com/Laiya-travel-guide-882766 and many others or just simply google "Laiya" and you will get a lot.

You can get to Laiya from Manila, take the South Luzon Tollway. Exit towards Batangas/Sto. Tomas and From Sto. Tomas, turn right to Star Tollway (CALABARZON) then From Star Tollway you can turn right towards Lipa, traverse C.M. Recto then turn right at P.Torres (Mercury Drug) towards Padre Garcia. Turn left going to Padre Garcia Public Market then turn right going to Batangas Racing Circuit. Go straight ahead to San Juan and from San Juan, turn right at the Municipal Hall and you have reached the main road of Laiya. Drive approximately 23 kms along this road and you will get to the resorts.

I have gone there with friends at work. We rented a two room airconditioned guest house for only 5,000 pesos (that would be very cheap if you are a group sharing the expenses) it includes a refrigerator and a stove plus the owner let us borrow cooking utensils.

You can enjoy quite a lot of things over there. Like the scenery if you are fond of taking photos (ofcourse everybody does!), you can rent a boat, banana boat ride, the classic pinoy past time videoke (wahahaha! we had a lot of this),

you can also go snorkling they have a place there called "submarine garden" you can get there on a short boat ride and etc!. We of course had a lot of fun and great time at Laiya and is looking forward of getting back there for another relaxing break.
